Human Rights Watch concerned over due process in arrests of Muslims in Sri Lanka

Apr 24, Colombo: Human Rights Watch (HRW), an international human rights watchdog expressing concerns over Sri Lanka’s due process in recent arrests of Muslims said Sri Lankan authorities should uphold due process rights and ensure that recently detained Muslim figures have proper access to lawyers.The arrests, soon after the government adopted a Covid-19 funeral policy biased against Muslims, raise concerns about the safety of Sri Lanka’s Muslim minority, the right organization said.
